QT Talks Additional Kill Bill Anime
During a press interview for his latest film, Inglourious Basterds, director Quentin Tarantino discussed his work with anime studio Production I.G on anime sequences produced for Kill Bill. Tarantino confirmed that I.G has completed an additional anime segment depicting O-ren Ishii taking revenge on the man who killed her father. Tarantino states that he originally wanted to include this scene in the 2003 film, but including more than 8 minutes of anime in Kill Bill volume 1, “may be not the wisest move.” However, the freshly produced anime sequence will be included in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which Tarantino expects to focus on after finishing the promotional junket for Inglourious Basterds.
Just as a reminder, the original anime sequence in the Japanese release of Kill Bill vol. 1 is a few seconds longer and contains slightly more graphic violence than the cut released to American theaters and DVD. Furthermore, America has still never gotten an official release of the fully uncut and uncensored version of Kill Bill volume 1.

King of Thorn Movie Trailer Released
An official web page for Kadokawa Pictures and director Kazuyoshi Katayama’s (The Big O) King of Thorn anime feature film has launched, featuring an English friendly trailer promising a 2010 worldwide release. The spectacular trailer looks exceptionally faithful to Yuji Iwahara’s original manga, and the narrative nature of the story should make it particularly well suited for international distribution since it’s a speculative sci-fi action story not specifically tied to Japanese culture. Real Clothes Manga Gets TV Drama Series in October
Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment announced its acquisition of the series in March 2010, two DVD box sets are planned, the first scheduled for late Fall 2010. Each set features remastered video from the Japanese DVD release, as well as Japanese audio and English-language subtitles.
The Dirty Pair TV series follows the action-packed, sci-fi misadventures of Kei and Yuri, operatives dispatched by the for-profit World Welfare Works Association to resolve crises throughout the universe. Their preferred codename is “Lovely Angels,” but their on-the-job effectiveness, is only rivaled by the path of destruction left in their wake, has earned them a very public, very unwanted nickname – the “Dirty Pair.”
